Be Good

Fleur is insightful, unconventional and artsy. She stays above it all, she has seen much and has figured out how to create and live life on her own terms and is focused on the arts; Living an artful life.

She fits the environment to herself not conforming to what others might consider the right way to be or do.

The Vintage headless, armless doll body before I added my imagined version of head & arms is composed of a cotton canvas cover and was very time worn with stains and a few holes that I mostly cover up with the hand stitching. The condition of the body somewhat dictates the design in the stitching. The inside of her body was some sort of straw like fiber.

I used Vintage Indigo Mud cloths for the hat and top of the body. And a washed Gray Linen for the head arms and her boots. All the fabrics are recycled piece goods. Her neckpiece is a Moroccan coin, and her earrings are Vintage Indian nickel coins.

Various Cotton Embroidery threads and Black darning thread is used throughout.

She measures 26” in height and 5” at the widest body part and then her hat is 8” wide.
